Guess what? I'm releasing a brand new book titled "Knit Wild," set to hit shelves in fall 2024. You can already preorder your copy on Amazon or through any major, local, or online bookstore across the United States, Canada, and the UK. I have added you a few links below. Amazon ships Woldwide!
This book, written in English and featuring both metric and imperial measurements, is designed to be wonderfully inclusive of all sizes. 🦊 I won't give away too much just yet, but I can't resist sharing a little teaser: "Knit Wild" will showcase a plethora of new patterns that you'll only find in the book. One such design is the Coldfoot & Wiseman Sweater, which has undergone rigorous testing by over 80 talented knitters and has already garnered a tremendous amount of interest and requests.

A little snop behind the scenes

The inspiration behind "Knit Wild" harkens back to my experiences during 2022 and early 2023—a time of solitude and reflection ...and pregancy if you remeber. I spent most of the time outdoors searching for Inspiration. From my beloved Alaska to the serene landscapes of Norway, I've found inspiration in every corner of the great wilderness out there just waiting to be discovered.

Picture this: Whales gliding through crystal-clear waters along the shores of Ketchikan. Every year, from May to September, Ketchikan becomes a haven for marine enthusiasts as humpback whales, orcas, and other majestic cetaceans migrate through its pristine waters. These gentle giants breach and dive, putting on spectacular displays that leave visitors awestruck.
Imagine the rustle of leaves as a bear ambles through a dense forest, its presence a reminder of the untamed beauty that surrounds us. Did you know that Alaska is home to all three species of North American bears? This includes the iconic grizzly bear (also known as the brown bear in coastal regions), the black bear, and the polar bear. With such diverse habitats ranging from temperate rainforests to Arctic tundra, Alaska provides the perfect environment for these fascinating creatures to thrive.
Just to name a few of the scenes that have inspired the patterns within "Knit Wild."
"Knit Wild" isn't solely about animals; it's also a celebration of the intricate shapes and captivating stories found in nature. From the majestic mountains to the delicate patterns of leaves, inspired by the rugged terrain of national parks like Kitulo and Zion—two of the parks represented—or simply from the woods behind my garden, each pattern in 'Knit Wild' offers something that will bring joy to your knitting experience. ( I am crossing my fingers! :-))
Qanuk roaming the Wilderness
For those of you who adored my first book, rest assured that "Knit Wild" won't disappoint. Just like before, I've had the creative freedom to design every aspect of "Knit Wild," ensuring that it captures my vision perfectly.
But alas, duty calls—I must rush to Waya, who is about to wake up from his afternoon nap. I hope you all enjoy a cozy afternoon, perhaps with a refreshing iced coffee like mine, or a soothing cup of tea.
Talk soon, xo
